OAKVILLE CRICKET CLUB
FOR SCORING THE FIRST CENTURY FOR THE CLUB IN THE 2014 SEASON
On Saturday, June 07th, 2014, Zaid Rehman played the innings of a lifetime, a remarkable 101 not out against a good bowling attack. Most importantly, he was the opening batsman, scored his century in the last over, and faced the last ball of the innings, remaining not out. Very few batsmen can say that they carried the bat throughout the innings. In spite of losing wickets early and frequently around him, Zaid stayed focused, built partnerships with the middle and lower order and took the attack to the opposition, scoring most of his runs in boundaries – 7 fours and 7 sixes.
Even though he was unfortunate to be on the losing side, we would like to acknowledge his remarkable innings, and hope that he has many more of these throughout this season, and the following ones.
Congratulations Zaid, hope you can top this one soon.
