Mississauga - B 77 140 Oakville - B
14th June 2014
Avebury, Mississauga
League Game

A great win for Oakville against a young and passionate Mississauga B team.

Oakville went in to bat first – with Vikram Nayak and Jamie McVicar opening the innings. Two wickets fell quickly, but Vikram and Manik Bhan started rebuilding the innings. Boundaries were hard to get at the big Avebury ground, but the batsmen ran hard between the wickets. Vikram was out for 17 and Manik for 19, but the Vishnu Dhanbir, Brijesh Jaggi and Imran Mohammed batted remarkably to get the score to 140. Imran top scored with 25, Vishnu and Brijesh had 19 each. Roy Supaul was the most successful bowler with 3 wickets.

In reply – Oakville bowlers bowled a disciplined line and length, and kept taking wickets at regular intervals. They never let a partnership build. Imran was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets, Manik bowled remarkably giving away only 5 runs in his 5 overs. All the bowlers had an Economy Rate of less than 3.3 runs an over, and they bundled Mississauga for just 77 runs.

A great day of cricket for Oakville, and they look to continue this form when they take on Halton Warriors next Saturday June 21st, at Glenashton Park in Oakville.
