See below for Summaries and Scorecards:

Qualifying Round

Match 1 - June 29 vs NCA Force One

Oakville loses their first T20 game.

Facing off against the Niagara Cricket Academy side, Oakville fought hard to restrict them to 139. but the batting collapsed severely to lose the game by 76 runs.

NCA openers gave a solid start and the remaining batting order built on it, Vishal Sharma top scored with 30 runs and Abijeet Karkhanis and Gurpal Sandu contributed with 27 and 24.  Sikandar Hayat and Manik Bhan were the most Oakville bowlers, taking 2 wickets each.

In reply, Oakville faced a major collapse, with the top order not performing at all.  4 wickets were down for only 11 runs.  Manik tried to rebuild the innings, and top scored with 30 runs, but after his dismissal, all remaining wickets fell cheaply.  Zaid Rehman was the second highest scorer, with only 10 runs.  Vishal Sharma and Abhijeet Karkhanis took 3 wickets each.

Match 2 - July 05 vs Mississauga Ramblers

Oakville come on top in a high scoring game.

Thanks to 36 penalty runs conceded by Mississauga for late arrival and slow over rate, Oakville finished with 209 runs and won the game by 27 runs.

Oakville opted to bat first, Zaid Rehman was in prime form, striking the ball cleanly and scoring 58 runs, along with Farhan who remained not out on 55.  Manik Bhan also contributed with 22 valuable runs.  Mian Kamal and Humayun Abbasi took 2 wickets each for Mississauga.  Zaid started the innings positively and Farhan sealed the innigs remarkably.

Oakville bowlers got taken to the cleaners early on, but hung on to win the game.  The spinners, Arsalan Pervaiz and Aizaz Paracha finished with 2 wickets each.

Match 3 - July 06 vs Halton Warriors

Oakville hangs on to win a last ball thriller.

Yet another remarkable batting performance by Zaid Rehman, and a clinical finish by Rajiv Mehta helps Oakville win a remarkable game against Halton Warriors.

Halton batted first and had a good positive start, but the opening stand faced a gory interruption when one of their openers got hit in the nose by a short pitched delivery which shot up.  Manish Singh was taken to the hospital with a broken nose.  Satvir Atwal continued batting with Gursewak Pandher and they both built a solid platform.  Jaswinder Thind top scored with 40 runs.  Manik Bhan was he pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets.  Halton finished their allotted overs with 143 runs.

Zaid Rehman took the attack to the Halton bowlers and kept pressing in spite of losing 3 quick wickets on the other end.  Amit Sawh joined him and they both built a solid 78 run partnership.  Zaid scored yet another 50 in the tournament, and finished with 58 runs in quick time.  Amit contributed with 21 runs.  Rajiv Mehta kept the scoreboard ticking, and along with Syed Saad Sohail, took the game right down to the last ball, with 3 runs still required for the win, and to keep the playoff hopes alive.  A mistimed hit, a bit of a blunder by the fielders, an awesome display of running between the wickets, and 3 runs were taken off that last ball.  Rajiv Mehta remained not out on 35.  Oakville won their second game in a row.  Varinder Khakh and Ankur Lakhanpal took 2 wickets each.

Match 4 - July 12 vs Niagara Cricket Club

Oakville fight hard, but still come out as the losing side.

Niagara Cricket Club pulled off a great chase, in spite of some good bowling and fielding by Oakville.

Oakville batted first in one of the most important games of the tournament, but found themselves facing yet another early order collapse.  Zaid Rehman kept his great form going, when he started in similar fashion – hitting sixes and fours all over the park.  He was unfortunate to lose his wicket when on 42, but he had given Oakville the start that they needed.  Farhan Iqtidar came out strong and kept attacking the bowling.  A few wickets fell in the middle, but Imran Mohammed finished the inning strong with some powerful hits, and remained not out on 25.  Oakville finished with a solid total of 145.

NCC batted sensibly, lost their star batsman early, but kept scoring boundaries every now and then.  A couple of unfortunate edges and wide balls towards the end and NCC managed to chase the score down with 10 balls to spare.  Manik Bhan and Darren Kimberley were the most successful bowlers, with 2 wickets each.

Match 5 - July 13 vs Hamilton

Oakville storm into the playoffs with a monstrous win over Hamilton.

Yet another big 50 by Zaid Rehman and a good all round performance by Aizaz Paracha help Oakville win a big game.

Oakville were put in to bat on a gloomy, cloudy morning.  Zaid Rehman came out strong yet again, and continued where he left off in the previous game.  Moin Khan lost his wicket early and missed out on the party, but Aizaz joined Zaid and they both kept piling on the runs at 10 an over.  Zaid crossed his 50 in no time.  Aizaz batted sensibly, getting Zaid on strike with singles, and scoring some boundaries of his own.  Zaid finally lost his wicket after scoring 77 runs, and Aizaz after 36.  Rajiv Mehta kept the attack going, and some good support by Nasrullah Syed, Farhan Iqtidar and Christian Flook helped Oakville score an unbelievable 214 runs in their 20 overs.  A bad day for Hamilton bowlers, but a great day for Oakville batsmen.

Chasing 215 was not going to be easy, and Oakville’s opening bowlers, made it difficult for Hamilton to get a good start by stealing 3 quick wickets.  A brief resistance by the middle order helped the score go over 100 but Sikandar Hayat and Saad Sohail bowled economically, denying them any runs, and Umair Arshed and Aizaz Paracha took the wickets and helped Oakville win by 95 runs.  Sikandar and Umair took 2 wickets each, and Aizaz was the most successful bowler with 3 wickets.

Semi Finals - July 19 vs NCA Force One

Force One chase down 185 with ease to eliminate Oakville from the Playoffs.
